"I write books my own lost, geeky, aching, teenaged self yearned for but never found."
About
Laura fell in love with reading as an escape at a young age. She frequently found refuge reading books within the branches of her favorite dogwood tree at her childhood home on Long Island.

Her love of fantasy began when she read A Wrinkle in Time as a child. That book was influential in her lifelong love of unlikely girl heroes, found family, time travel, and trios of magical women. She went on to discover many other geeky pursuits including comic books, superheroes, Greek Mythology, Dungeon and Dragons, and Star Wars.

Laura attended Binghamton University, where she met her husband and received a degree in English Literature. She then went on to Columbia University Teachers College for a masters degree. She currently lives in upstate New York with her gallant husband and three often magical, sometimes moody, children.

When not conjuring up fantastical stories, Laura can be found in her classroom attempting to inspire literary enthusiasm in her beloved students, co-advising the Film Club, or grading papers over an enormous cup of tea.
